Get Fresh Air Hygge on The Daily

Connecting with nature is a straight up super dose of hygge. What I'm trying to say is it feels so good! I'm always surprised at how rejuvenated, present and happy I feel when I get outside. When you think about it, ancient trees and sounds of wildlife should equal endorphins because we are all creatures of mother nature. Reconnecting with the outdoors feels right because it is right.

Here's the thing - last time I checked there are no job openings located in the rolling hills of the middle of nowhere. And also in today's world, many of our family and friends end up scattered around the globe. So baby girl here needs to be somewhat near an airport or a train - I have to be able to see people and explore the world! We don't and can't all live in the middle of nature. That means we've got to make a conscious effort to get in our fresh air.

The golden nature rule is a person should get outside for at least fifteen minutes a day. That can be so doable, and the benefits are worth it! Let's start a fresh air challenge together today to get our fifteen minutes in, and here are some (realistic) ways to start.

LOVELY WAYS TO BRING A DAILY FIFTEEN MINUTES (OR MORE) OF OUTDOORS TO YOUR LIFE

  • Sneak away for a few minutes on a work break or after dinner to take a quick stroll.
  • Have a quick relaxing moment on the porch, stoop, yard or at work right outside. You can even invite the neighbors!
  • Bike the drive (or public transportation ride)
  • Have a small picnic in the nearest park.
  • Plan ahead to get outside of the city on a weekend
  • Ask for outside seating at restaurants when the weather is nice

We got this!
